Tawa Paneer Masala

Paneer is made from milk and commonly used in South Asia. It is full of calcium and protein. Paneer or fresh cheese is versatile item can be used in so many dishes and gives delicious taste. Paneer can be used in desserts, parathas apart from dry and gravy sabjis.

Here I am sharing a recipe for Tawa Paneer Masala which is very easy to cook. It hardly takes 20-25 minutes to cook. If there is any unexpected guest comes you can quickly prepare this. Also you can give Tawa Paneer Masala in your child's tiffin also.

Ingredients for 4 servings -

  1. Paneer - 200 grams
  2. Onion - 1 medium sized chopped
  3. Tomato - 3 medium sized chopped
  4. Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp
  5. Garlic - 4 pods 
  6. Ginger - 2 inch piece
  7. Green Chilli - 2 nos.
  8. Kitchen King Masala - 2 tsp
  9. Chat Masala - 2 tsp
  10. Red Chilli Powder - as per taste
  11. Coriander powder (Dhaniya) - 2 tsp
  12. Corinader leaves
  13. Turmeric (Haldi)- 1 tsp
  14. Salt - as per taste
  15. Butter for cooking, keep 1 tsp separate
Method of Preparation
  1. Take fresh paneer and cut large size cubes. Now take a Tawa or Skillet, add small amount of butter and heat it on medium flame.
  2. When oil is heated add grated garlic, grated ginger, fine chopped green chilli and saute for 1 minute on low flame.
  3. Add onion and saute it for 1 minute on low flame. Add few pinch of salt which helps in cooking onion fast.
  4. Add tomato and saute it for 5 minutes on low flame. Add few drops of water to cook tomato fast.
  5. When tomato is cooked add kasuri methi and saute it for 30 seconds. Add kitchen king masala, Chat Masala, Red Chilli Powder, Coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and saute it for 30 seconds.
  6. Add Paneer cubes, coat it with cooked onion and tomato, which takes 2-3 minute to properly cook.
  7. You can add little butter in this stage and switch off the flame.
  8. Take it in serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves and butter.
  9. Tawa Paneer Masala is ready to be served with hot chapati, paratha, naan, crispy poori, bedami poori.

Tips


  1. You can use tomato paste instead of fine chopped tomato.
  2. You can add few crystals of sugar in step no. 3 which caramelises onion and gives good flavour.
  3. If you do not have kitchen king masala, then use garam masala or pav bhaji masala.
  4. You can use dry mango powder (Amchur) in place of chat masala.
  5. You can also make Tawa Paneer rolls with the prepared tawa paneer masala by using it as fillings.
