Mint Chocolate Cookies

Mint chocolate cookies is mint flavoured Chocolate chips Cookies which I made couple of days back. I love to bake cookies all time but such busy schedule of day doesn't allow me to do so.Being a working woman plus mom is very hard to follow your passion. But passion is passion.you cannot resist. So I started utilizing every bit of time I manage to make all these stuffs.

This mint chocolate cookies, I had been planning to bake since last six seven months back but finally did it couple days back. Mint flavour with Chocolate is a great combination or can be said deadly combination.... Hahaha....
So I used this combination in cookies even I have already tried this combination in ice cream earlier in my blog. You can check my blog for mint chocolate ice cream.

For mint flavour, I used mint sauce which I cooked home and posted this recipe on my blog too very recently. Mint sauce is very easy to make home and great for desserts specially for ice cream topping. Mint sauce has sweet Salty sour taste which with Chocolate taste works wonder and gives a great flavour to any dessert.
So this mint chocolate cookies has soft chewing sweet Salty sour taste which is different from normal course of cookies. So you must try this cookies and experience its taste and serve them to family and guests in your next kitty party or get-together party your home.

Actually this Cookie idea came to my mind after trying my mint Chocolate ice cream. Mint chocolate ice cream, I just made on trial basis because I was not sure about result of this combination but this recipe hit to blast and response was great. Then I thought to try this combination in cookies too and again it worked. So I have baked it 3 times as it moved off the shelf very quickly and still more demand was there from my family and friends.
Making this Cookies is simple. Now let's start this recipe.

Ingredients: 10 - 12 pieces

  1. All purpose flour: 150 gram or 1 cup
  2. Butter: 50 gram
  3. Powder Sugar: 1/4 cup or 25 gram
  4. Mint sauce: 2 spoons
  5. Chocolate chips: one handful
  6. Baking powder: 1 tsp
  7. Salt: 1 pinch
  8. Green colour : 1 pinch (optional)

Method of Preparation:

  1. Now take all purpose flour and sieve it. Add baking powder and salt. Mix well. Keep this dry ingredients mixture side.
  2. Take another bowl, put butter in this. Butter should be at room temperature. Put sugar powder and beat it by  either electric beater or hand beater. Beat it until it becomes like creame texture. It takes almost 3 mintues.
  3. Now add dry ingredients mixture in this. Add Chocolate chips ( keeping some chips apart for topping). Add mint sauce and green color. Make dough.

  10. When baking is done, leave the cookies inside the oven on baking tray. After 5 to 7 minutes, transfer the Cookies on oven rack and keep it there untill these are cool completely.
  11. Now take it out from oven and serve it. You can store it in air tight container upto one month.

Notes:

  3. Beat the butter well until it becomes cream texture. Don't over beat it
  4. You must know your oven well before baking any thing in it.

Mint Sauce - Sweet Salty & Sour

Mint sauce I made 3 - 4 months back and couldn't post this recipe. This sauce I couldn't find in any store or market in India so I try to cook myself home and I succeeded in this work. Taste is awesome and tangy. Only simple ingredients have been used and easy to make but truly speaking little cumbersome and time taking but you can store it upto six months if you keep in fridge.

This sauce enhance the taste and even look of any ice cream and some desserts using as a ingredient or as topping. I have already posted a recipe using this sauce. Mint chocolate ice cream which I made using this recipe. I also made mint chocolate cookies and taste was sweet and little tangy and mint flavor gives freshness too

This sauce has a multiple use in food and desserts. You can use it as a flavor, as a topping, use in chaat stuff too. Color of this sauce came out so perfect green. I just loved it. Try this sauce and let me know how perfect it came out for you.
Recipe is given below.

Ingredients:

  1. Fresh mint leaves: 250 gram
  2. Sugar: 1 cup or 200 gram
  3. Lemon juice: 2 tsp
  4. Salt: 1/2 tsp
  5. Water: 1/2 cup to grind mint leaves
  6. Green food color: 1 pinch

Method of Preparation:

  1. First take fresh mint leaves and wash it with water properly and keep it aside for draining extra water.
  2. Now take mixer jar, put washed mint leaves, add 1/2 cup water and grind it into a fine paste solution. Now filter this paste solution using tea strainer.

3.    Now take a sauce pan and heat it on medium flame. Put mint paste in it.
4.    Add sugar, lemon juice, salt and green food color.
5.    Stir it continuously on high flame. After 4 to 5 minutes it will start thickening and turning into sauce texture.
6.    Take few drops  of mint mixture from pan to spoon and with the help of finger check it whether it is little sticky or not.
7.    Switch off the gas and leave it for 5 minutes to become cool.
8.    Meanwhile, you take cotton cloth and a glass jar. Set the cotton cloth on glass jar top and make a curve in between of cloth using finger so that we can easily filter and pour the sauce into jar.
9.    Pour the sauce mixture over the cotton cloth and filter it. I just forgot to take photo of this step. But process is simple and you can do it.
10.   After pouring and filtering all sauce into jar, remove the cotton cloth and keep jar open for sometime to let sauce completely cool.
11.   After cooling it, put the jar cover and use it accordingly.
12.   If you want to store it for long time, say, 4 to 5 months then store it in refrigerator keeping it in air tight jar.
Notes:

  1. Don't add too much water to grind mint leaves
  2. Use cotton cloth to strain the sauce
  3. If you store it in refrigerator for long then it might become little thick like solid as sugar gets crystallized when chilled. You can microwave it for 30 seconds to bring it back to original texture.
